Celebrating a decade of existence, FARWARMTH returns to his first recorded material in cathartic remembrance, reinterpreting his original collection of compositions to honour the project’s conception and milestone moment.
Deleted, as so many first steps into creative pursuits are, these foundational works have been revisited a decade later with renewed perspective, and once again made available in their original guise as "Warm Winter, 2015". Stemming from the mid-2010s wave of tape music, the pleasing fuzz and hum of the medium engulfs the nine pieces that make up the album – familiar in their characteristic saturation and warm compression – in an ode to the context in which the music first arose.
Laying the groundwork for his later albums on Planet Mu and ACR, these lost pieces display FARWARMTH’s trademark sonic palette in its formative incarnation, albeit transformed by ten years spent honing his compositional ear. Filled with dynamic tension, each piece offers an assemblage of granular synthesis, electro-acoustic drones, and melancholic harmonic stutters, culminating in an emotive body of work that seems to mourn the past while continuing to look forward.
"On that day, and after all this time, what were you trying to say?"
