throughout the month of january, i wrote a 1-minute song every day, posting them on my social media each night, accumulating a total of 31 short songs. in the months since, most of them have been reworked and fleshed out to become “songs for jan.”: a concept album loosely tracing someone’s life from childhood through adulthood as they navigate their trans/queer identity and try to learn to accept themselves.
