ONDAS, translates to “waves” from Portuguese and Spanish - both languages I grew up mix and mashing together with English. This third album takes the themes I traversed in my first two LPs of submersion and repetition, and brings them into a more explicit focus through new vocal and lyric explorations. ONDAS is about repeating patterns and trying to make sense of the cyclical nature of grief and relief. The title is based on a poem I wrote in 2017 to my religious Portuguese mother taking inspiration from the waves to keep going, over and over, despite the ebb and flow of the tide.
