Haxa is the latest album from composer, improviser and audio engineer Andrew Weathers. On Haxa, Weathers presents two sidelong pieces sourced from field recordings, lap steel and synthesizers. Sounds come and go in an instant, yet there’s a sense of suspended time slowly unraveling. Stuttering rhythms dance across the stereo field atop scorched foundations, each texture clear and humming. Like the fingerprints on the impressionistic cover art, the music on Haxa is imbued with human touch while never revealing its hand.
