"Act III: Rite" circles a propulsive looping melody that catches embers with each rotation. Gaining distortion and intensity as it spirals, the track is structured around a bass-driven melody inspired by goth music—low and insistent. A street-found pump organ and harmonium provide the foundation, their air mechanisms mimicking an automaton-like revving, compressed and squeezed. The melody cycles decisively, accumulating crackling textures and glints of sound with a chiming streak that jangles towards controlled havoc and discordance. Ultimately, “Rite” careens into a gentler, epiphanic shimmer—ethereal and hollow like being cast into a tunnel or spell. What begins as a grounded ritual transforms into something unmoored and visionary, providing invocation as fire draws attention to a familiar world beginning to fracture.
