The Basque language was printed for the first time in 1545 in the book "Linguae Vasconum Primitiae" by Bernat Etxepare. Around the same time, roughly two hundred kilometres from the Lower Navarre, where Bernat Etxepare lived, the first stones of the Elexabeitia hermitage in Artea (Biscay) were laid. Five hundred years later, in 2025, those old poems collided inside the ancient walls of the hermitage with the voice of Ibonrg and the accordion of Garazi Navas.
"Çucen henbilqueyen" is meant to mirror the album "iaquin vahu" (Repetidor, 2024), released by ibonrg in 2024, but this time adapted for voice and accordion. Contemporary music, a capella singing, folk, free improvisation and lyrical singing are the territories these songs traverse.
