Physique’s second album Bright Lights, L’il City is an eclectic collection
with influences ranging from YMO, Martin Denny, L.A. Noire, The birthplace
of Larry Bird, Ridley Scott’s music video for Roxy Music’s Avalon, clocks
in bars, and market segmentation analyses. It was recorded over the past 3
years in Chicago, Kilkenny, Cork and Glasgow.
The record will be released digitally and as a limited edition cassette tape
on the Irish/Scottish contemporary music label Miúin on the 4th of July 2025.
The album is accompanied by a series of still shot music videos, which
combine to document a single gloaming, oceans apart; a love letter to the
everyday and the magic in the routine. Informed by James Benning’s 1977
debut, 11x14, and the video art covered in the early seasons of Art21 on
PBS.
Played, Recorded and Mixed by Sam Scranton and Neil Quigley
