Following the success of two singles, ROMÆO releases concept EP Eternal Recurrence. Musing on the ouroboros (snake eating its own tail), ROMÆO investigates notions of permanence and continuity - what if every event repeated itself infinitely, exactly as it has occurred before? Drawing inspiration from Hemingway’s The Garden of Eden, lead single Cycles pairs acoustic guitar, cello, synthesis and evocative art-pop production to explore recurring relational patterns.
ROMÆO elaborates “I built Cycles around a repetitive picked guitar riff, pairing the lyrical material with circular movement and structure through the instrumentation. Each song off the EP examines a different idea of Eternal Recurrence. Starting with the mother of pearl as a symbol for womankind, moving through the expansive present, people and relationships stuck in patterns, and finding pleasure in the everyday, this body of work soundtracks my reaching for affirmation in all that is.”
