Brussels-based mona sv brings a duet between a clarinet and samples of sent & received video messages. Sent by friends and family, the highly compressed messages enter in a dialogue with the melancholic sound of the wind instrument. The compositions become sonic souvenirs exploring the temporality of videographed experiences shared on messaging apps. Neither here nor there, these atmospheric sketches trace a journey through the in-between of digital connectivity. Catching glimpses of women’s baseball in Barra De La Cruz, chaabi music in Imsouane, cycling trips in the Gaume, strong winds blowing through the Vanoise mountain range.
