"Footwar" is a track made by the fictional character of Evgeny Mukhin, created in July of 2022 as a result of jovial collaboration between Rudolf Kurzanov, Alina Chursova, and me (SOPHULATE). The composition captures a moment of communal creativity amid the turbulent times marked by personal and geopolitical upheavals caused by Russia's declaration of war in Ukraine. The "revmix" of this previously unreleased work came out as part of my compilation LP from the same year, titled "free mint", which can also be found on Nina Protocol.

The release of that archival sonic absurdity is dedicated to the 57th birthday of Mark Fisher. Fisher’s reflections on the haunting liminality of land and digital space resonated deeply with our spirit during the creation of the track, where moments of joyous creation clash with the melancholy and awkwardness of capitalist modernity.
