While listening to Dormant, the debut album from Swiss multi-instrumentalist David Koch, you’re tricked into believing that you could run your fingertips across the textured sound objects coming out of the speakers, if you wanted to. But it is that which you can’t hear, framed like negative space in minimalist design, that will put a dent in your chest. Because the emotional payload that it delivers is that heavy.
