Nustix is an EP of cello-heavy electronic music that traverses hazy, mechanical soundscapes and glitchy, disorientating beats.

Drawing on a wide array of timbres including cello samples, field recordings, analogue synth and live acoustic cello, Nustix creates a rich tapestry of sound that marries the synthetic with the organic.

"I'm always in search of ways to combine the acoustic character of the cello with more electronic sound worlds. With Nustix, I was interested to explore layers of extended techniques like col legno and Bartok pizz with electronically generated sounds. I was also drawn to the idea of sampling and resampling those sounds to push their characteristics and to blur the point at which they lose their acoustic quality and tip over into the digital world."
