Welcome to 'the night is triangles'
In 2021, I had the idea of making an entirely sample-based album. Inspired by the likes of The Avalanches, Backini, DJ Shadow and Portishead, I set out on my mission.
I began saving samples in August 2021, tracks started taking shape in February 2022, and work was finalized in September 2023.
The hardest thing about this album was mixing it, and deciding when to stop adding samples to the tracks.
This album is is the culmination of relentless sampling, digging, hunting, trial, error and experimentation, and it could only have been possible thanks to music found in thrift shops, bargain bin finds at record stores, on the internet, and in me and my family's music collection.
Let music beget music. Long live plunderphonics.
