A subdued meditation on the politics of spatial access, and oriented for long motorbike rides, Kelman Duran’s ‘Scorpio Falling’ serves as a continuation of his 2021 album ‘Night in Tijuana’. Defined by amorphous, ghostly and layered composition the album pays reverence to the Black musical traditions of North America, traversing “free jazz” to Memphis rap, whilst circling in divergent echoes of Tanzania’s Bamba Pana, speeches of former Haitian presidents and Makaveli. Featuring collaborations with Frankie, K. Roosevelt and BLURER.
