Ascending notes and piano lines like sutures piece the song together at its pressure points. The entrance of horns builds a complex moment of peace. Organic mannerisms and silence shape the song the way an absence of sky shapes a mountain. Each time the arrangement falls back into quietness, we feel the tension of whether it will summon itself up again. Eventually, it does not. We are left alone with a residue of piano teased out into a long thin ribbon.
