1000% is the new album by umarell, Bologna-born producer and songrwiter Martin Giovannella, a project that recounts the exact moment in which one becomes an adult without being ready.
It is a work of identity, self-defense and change. It is a vulnerable chronicle of a twenty-year-old who finds himself on the edge between what he was and what he is becomin, between the child who dreamed and the adult he is building himself into in order to survive.
The title, 1000%, comes from an idea of hyper-determination: a displayed confidence, a necessary exaggeration to mask the inner confusion.
Performing at 1000% all the time does not mean feeling strong, but having to appear so. It is an expression of self-convincing, an armor made of crystal, of enthusiasm, irony and control.
The album tells a year and a half of growth and disillusionment, of study, of personal changes and of crises. It is ideally set in the transition between high school and university, between the bedroom and the adult world.
