Inspired by the reading of René Daumal’s Mount Analogue, ‘Mount Apeiron’ is a spiritual and symbolic narrative of mountain climbing : initiation trip, search for meaning, self-transcendence. The listener is propelled into these harsh, deserted metaphysical landscapes, moving deeper into the blizzard to the rhythm of taiko drums for a long and tortuous ride. A journey that ends at the mountaintop to a climax of euphoria in a romantic vision, a last look back on the long road travelled.
