The theming is sorta existential and morbid (what song of mine isn't); reaching the end of your life, and accepting the path you have lived - falling into inner peace. I enjoy concepts like these as they are open for a lot of experimental interpretation, and placing that into a chill song gives it a stronger identity regarding this theme. Onto the song itself, Imperfect Absolutions is probably my most stripped back song, with a minimal amount of sounds and instruments present, yet its still building up to something. Starting off with a solemn piano (as well as an atmospheric ambience filling the air), then some electronic chords slowly rising in intensity, before the kick and bass arrive, following which the clap, violin and arp are present, finally finishing with a piano ending. It seems like my description was half-hearted, yet but I'm restricting myself from over-analysing every single note lol. But yeah, the chords and blend of sounds is probably my favourite part of the song. Imperfect Absolutions gives me a lot of inner piece in regard to my life in the present, and gives me hope for what my future holds. And hopefully, y'all experience this in a similar way. Thanks for listening, and I'll see you next time!
