I wrote and produced this piece just after reading two books: Philip Glass' "Words without music" and Steve Reich's "Conversations". It's a cliché for these composers to be grouped, but part of my interest here was to use their distinct concepts of phrasing (phasing in Reich's case, and contraction/expansion in Glass' case) with non-melodic sample material, obtained from extensive modular synthesis improvisations.
The result is a hypnotic sonic grid, where changes are constantly happenning, but they're hard to perceive. When I listen to it, I often find myself in a state of trance where I keep thinking about the amount of information that cruises through my brain in any given day. As a result of this, I produced an accompanying music video, which explores this concept in a very literal manner.
