When I first started making these dark little tapes, I was testing my limits — seeing what other sounds I could explore. I wanted to find the flipside of the spacey, futuristic music I was making back then. And with spooky season around the corner, I leaned into something more sinister and gritty.
At the time, I was deep into Memphis rap — 3 6 Mafia, Tommy Wright III, Project Pat — and rewatching classic horror flicks like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. The sound of Koopsta Knicca’s Da Devil’s Playground mixed with the energy of The Terminator helped shape “DrkOrange” from the first volume. That blend opened up new pockets of horror soundscapes layered with darker, grimier beats.
It’s been five years since SpookySzn Vol. 1 dropped. Now I’m back — vengeance and blood included. I’m still using my signature Supa-style beats, but this time the sound’s evolved. Think cinematic horror — darker, spookier, and a little more twisted.
I present to you:
SpookySzn Vol. 2.
