eye level are ¡ not ok ! is the latest iteration of the Eye Level project by Daniel Ball and Aria SL, with remixes from Stolen Velour & FLOCO ‘Anchored’, and Ikävä Pii ‘Transparent Fantasy’. Having lived, worked, thrown parties and toured with Aria and Daniel since 2018, Stolen Velour, FLOCO and Ikävä Pii have been close collaborators and steadfast supporters of the Eye Level project since its conception.
Taking two distinct approaches, Stolen Velour and FLOCO’s ‘Anchored’ is submerged and reconstructed beneath a cascade of broken rhythms and mercurial sound design, whilst preserving the bulk of the song's original elements. To the contrary, Ikävä Pii strips ‘Transparent Fantasy’ to its central vocal and synth elements, imagining the duo as band members in a room, before supercharging them with a frenetic, double-time semiquaver groove engineered for the early hours of London’s most open-minded dancefloors. Both serve to reveal Eye Level within its peripheral context whilst magnifying and distorting the vulnerable emotions at the project’s core.
