This song was the product of me attempting to translate surrealist art techniques in to an audio format. I keep a dream journal by my bed every night and write down what I dreamt when I wake up every morning. This is an audio reconstruction of a dream I did not happen to write down. It just stayed with me throughout the months as a sort of fragmented collection of scenes. I read a lot of Carl Jung, and he wrote extensively on the subconscious mind and the power that dreams have to communicate from your subconscious to your conscious mind. He writes of the profound insight that dreams can have in to a persons psyche. This song was an attempt to reconstruct the dream, and figure out what my subconscious was trying to communicate to me through the dream. The song draws inspiration from all sorts of random places. I already mentioned the surrealist movement and Carl Jung, but the song also takes inspiration from a artists like Slowdive and my bloody valentine. Surprisingly, also Drain gang and Elliott smith but you can't really hear it though.
I guess in the end I discovered some things about myself that I had been repressing. This song was recorded, written, and produced by me exclusively, with the limited gear that I own. I did my best! The long winded title of the song probably makes sense now. Sorry If I sound a little pretentious, but sometimes there's no way around it.
