“L’inquieto suono” (The Uneasy Sound) is an acousmatic composition, originally conceived in ambisonics and presented here in binaural format. (Headphones are strongly recommended.)
The piece is divided into four sections: the interior of a cave within an ancient forest after a moment of rain; the depths of the marine abyss; the interior of an unspecified place of worship; and the listener’s bedroom. These four places are not clearly defined, but act as psychological mirrors of four atavistic human fears: the fear of survival, the fear of the unknown, the fear of the divine, and finally the fear of death. ~V
