Crossover of minimal postpunk, 80s cold wave in Dutch. Sacha Jennis' solo project (Dead High Wire). New album release KroweD, EP out 30/1, dropping on Gazer Tapes as well. Steppekrijger is the musical alter ego of Sacha Jennis brings a combination of cold wave and melodic post-punk in Dutch.
Release date 30/1 was deliberately chosen as an important date in history, 54 years after Bloody Sunday and 93 years after the rise to power of a fascist chancellor who “would never be emulated”... But unfortunately, fascism is closer than ever.
The four songs form a contemporary reflection on the times we live in. They reflect on the past (Te Laat), the present (Niet Oké) and the future (Berichten van Vroeger, Mofkees Vibes). The songs are a musical metaphor for the feelings Steppekrijger had when writing them.
