🩸 ‘Sister in Red / Stilt’ 🩸 – I'm extremely excited to be releasing a double-sided single featuring music from a brilliant short film by Elle Rinaldi and a track that shows the lineage of how this score came to be.

Elle and I met as she was beginning the edit of this film, and it was such a joy to get to work on the score after so many amazing conversations we shared about music and sound at the residency where we were working.

On the A-side, ‘Sister in Red’ is an arrangement of the main themes from the score; a score that began as a completely different track, collaborating with my friends Juan Herrera and Isabel Ong. This score began as ‘Stilt,’ the B-side of the release, an open score piece for prepared vibraphone and violin. The final element was a fixed electronics track built entirely from bird sounds Juan shared with me and became the throughline between Stilt and the score.

As part of the release, Elle and I have made a poster from the film artwork that we are putting up for sale as a fundraiser for The Sameer Project: Mass Displacement Response Campaign. We will be selling these posters during the month of October, and all proceeds from both the music and poster sales will be donated to The Sameer Project in support of their emergency medical camps in Gaza.
