all the songs on Space, Weight, Colour came from some initial element that made me feel enough to want to write to it, usually some weird loop or abstract texture/atmosphere.
as the songs developed I kept finding myself going back to those original parts and just listening to them on their own. as much as I love lyrics and melodies, sometimes I think words fall short, and I felt like those parts already said everything by themselves.
I wanted to let them exist as their own things, so I reworked the origins of each song into ambient compositions.
I played, sung, and mixed everything live, with no real fixed tempo or structure, just one-off, unrepeatable moments/feelings captured and fixed in time ❤︎
