SIGNAL PRESSURE REVIEW
Dead County Line captures the first extended rehearsal cycle of the Red Caliche Trio, recorded overnight in a disused oil-equipment warehouse in West Texas. The sessions weren’t planned as an album. A tape machine was switched on, and the band simply played until the reels ran out.

Guitarist Tomas Perales drives the music with a battered Telecaster through a small valve combo. His lines favor long bends and sustained chords that hang in the air after each phrase, drawing equally from country lead work, surf phrasing, and amplifier overdrive.

Bassist Elena Márquez anchors the recordings with steady low-register tones that hold a fixed center while the guitar drifts above. Drummer Hank Dalrymple keeps a slow, unbroken pulse—less a groove than the steady rhythm of highway travel.

The warehouse environment becomes part of the band. Concrete walls reflect the drums sharply while guitar sustain spreads through the room. Nothing is isolated. Ideas appear, dissolve, and return as the trio moves from passage to passage without stopping.

Dead County Line preserves that continuous rehearsal flow—longform desert playing captured exactly as it happened.
