Instrumental and quietly grand. Min skugga (My Shadow) makes its debut on Kopotikop with an album drifting somewhere between dream and reality. A welcoming soundscape of soft synth layers, homespun rhythms and found sounds.
It’s music best enjoyed on your own – maybe while talking a walk at dusk. That’s when you realise you’re never truly alone: there’s a whole web of sounds, echoes and memories around you, little paths leading into your own inner maze.
The songs move between mysterious and fleeting moods, like watercolor swirling away in a glass of water. There’s also a comforting darkness to sink into. You’ll catch glimpses of 80s synth experiments, understated post-punk and dreamy ambient textures.
Behind the alias Min skugga is radio producer Erik Sjölin, who’s spent late nights tinkering with his synth, cello and drum machine. He’s been digging through his own sound archives, making wobbly cassette loops out of chirping birds and echoing footsteps. The outcome? Tunes that feel homely and a bit haunted at the same time – with song titles that read like unwritten poems. In short – there’s space to feel things.
