We welcome Terence Fletcher to the label for the first release of 2025.
The Göppingen-based artist, more commonly known as Jannik Aßfalg, premieres his first solo EP under his new dub-focused alias. The emerging music enthusiast and co-founder of Diffraction is definitely one to watch not only in terms of production and DJing, but also in the development of great computational tools to enhance these crafts.
For W133 he delivers four highly detailed and funky originals. Starting off on the A side, „Saliva“, a nasty bass roller with dubby water-infused stabs and a break kick pattern that flows underneath the arpeggios. Later on, mesmerizing vocals give the tune a special touch you will have in your head for a long time. „Shifting“ on A2 is a dreamer, melodic pads with long dub delays set the mood to lose yourself in nostalgia.
On the flip side, we get a bit more funky with „Base95“. A house stomper with live guitar played in by Jannik’s friend Valle. Following on B2, we enjoy the deep roller „Dubheim“. Growling basslines and marching percs will defo keep you moving. Last on the record, we are happy to have label mainstay Lask back on remixing duties. She delights us with a slightly more psychedelic version of Shifting, with many glitches and bleepy effects.
The release is due 21.2.2025 digitally and as a limited 25 copies dubplate edition complemented by fully printed cover artworks with photographs by Philipp Roth.
