Lucian de Nevers’ debut single “Telephone Lines” details the longing and loneliness of a long distance phone call with a lover. Combining folk guitar similar to Adrienne Lenker with linear groove the likes of LCD Soundsystem, “Telephone Lines” creates something wholly new, raw, and refreshing. Written in San Francisco, the lyrics follow the Lou Reed ethos of simple, direct poetry to capture the divide in space and feeling.
