Jetty is a New York City/Houston-based producer. ‘Jetty+’ is out on OST.
The release sees our artist inviting six disparate voices into his world. ‘Jetty+’ is a place of wistful, pillowy textures — beats that breathe and sigh and carry their vocalists skyward like glitter in a zephyr swirl.
Melbourne’s finest son Scan goes in from the jump, blessing opener ‘Airbag’ with a delicate, half-whispered flow that’s part flex, part meditation. Spacious, airy synth melodics meet subtly chain-reacted beat mechanics on ’Not Sure’ and ‘Steps’, giving body to Jackzebra and Shushu’s window-gazing daydreams. Desvelada takes flight entirely on ‘Do It For U’, her wordless cooing drifting and swaying over its trembling, drumless instrumental.
Our tale continues. Organ Tapes rides again on the downcast ‘Life After’, spurring the drill-meets-ballad beat into the Shanghai-via-E5 sunset with a searing guitar solo. Night falls and the shredder laments. The ambient work on ‘They Say Delirious’ brings our journey to a close, with Ben Bondy’s intimate, close-mic’d melodies blowing out the candles to six songs from and for the heart.
