With Mismo / Center, Pedazo De Carne Con Ojo opens a new chapter in his sonic journey, embracing a more organic, instrument-led practice. This two-track EP captures a moment of transition: less sampling, more intention; less collage, more composition rooted in the body and the now.
“Mismo” is a dense, fractured ambient piece, born out of a desire to write and perform everything solo. Influenced by Gigi Masin and a curiosity for texture, the track loops inward like a meditation on being cyclically reckless.
“Center” begins with piano and grows through collaboration. Malcolm Martin (drums), Manny Aroche (bass), and Kennedy Mann (vocals) contribute to a track that breaks away from structure and leans into intuition. Kennedy’s vocals reshape the song’s narrative — marking one of the first times Pedazo De Carne Con Ojo’s voice has blended and resonated so naturally with another.
Mismo / Center is an intimate record, a transitional document, and a clear statement of the project’s ever-shifting identity.
