The parts are interchangeable, like the operations we imagine performing on these untouchable women, as endlessly variable as the colours silkscreened on to the faces of Warhol's Liz and Marilyn.” This quote from J.G. Ballard echoes throughout Spineless Actress’s debut album Be Yourself. Immersed in an industrial soundscape, the album questions whether it’s truly possible to maintain a sense of subjectivity—or if "being yourself" has become just another hollow label in today’s world of overstimulation and hyperconsumption. The answers may vary.

Spineless Actress is the alias of Warsaw-based producer and musician Michelle Olczak. Blending elements of industrial, rap, noise, and R&B, they craft soundscapes of modern melancholy—music made for yearning after something long forgotten.
