three sketches is a collaboration between flutist Mansi Shah and composer Zachary Mezzo. These short pieces came together in a one-day recording session where Mansi performed several loosely notated passages and improvised over the textures that were created. This material was then processed and collaged to create a sonic palette where the traditional flute sound is only sometimes present and is often distorted, hidden, or both. The resulting piece falls somewhere between electroacoustic chamber music, ambient electronic, and noise.
