A key part of New York’s club music underground, WTCHCRFT will release his next EP on Clasico, Local Action’s new sibling label curated and operated by ELEANOR.
Titled Sleepless in Brooklyn, the four-track EP sees WTCHCRFT continue to hone a distinctive take on techno — typically driven by acid basslines, minimal 808s and vocal hooks that reflect his hip-hop background — that’s seen him supported by the genre’s brightest sparks: Ellen Allien, Ben Sims, Marie Davidson, TSHA, VTSS, Nene H, Francois X, SPF DJ and Paula Temple.
A live fixture in the US and Europe, both solo and as one half of Madness Of (with regular b2b-partner KYRUH), WTCHCRFT has previously released on Balkan Vinyl, Sorry Records, Noise Manifesto and more.
Started during the pandemic and finished at the start of this year, Sleepless in Brooklyn is “dedicated to my time in Sunset Park Brooklyn, staying awake every day during the pandemic making music until 7AM."
