T was the first of my friends to get a child. Seeing her animalistic protectiveness she had towards her daughter, yet her soft motherly nature that I hadn’t seen the same way with her. I asked her how it felt to love and wanting to protect someone the way you love and protect your child and she wrote a poem to her daughter.

I listen to this poem and find strength in her strength when I feel frail. When I feel the world is full of scary people.
