}}sam lives deep in the secluded expanses of countryside in his native Canada; and, either one wonders if the door to the yard was left ajar during a particularly cold fall’s studio sessions or he made the entire record whilst actively on nature walks because the chilly, sun-kissed god ray illuminances of colour and sound that comprise ‘II’ feel right at home coming from such wild, beautiful and powerful open vistas.
}}}white triangles started out as ambient love songs. ‘II’ is a different story. it’s the delicate marriage of intention and randomness. the tracks were recorded by collecting synths and sounds and then painting layer by layer - without hearing the previous layers - finally to reveal the outcome late in the process allowing editing and fine tuning the spotlight of careful craft in defining the pieces.
