"binding / illumination" is the second single from Jesse Quebbeman-Turley's debut album Hosana: The Messe de Nostre Dame. Beyond creating a new genre in it's entirety, Hosana is a beautiful response to Guillaume de Machaut’s Messe de Nostre Dame - a kind of co-creation with the spirit of the piece through a distinctly minimalist, medieval and, yes, Westcoast lens. Players on the album include a deep roster of Wescoast ambient / jazz artists including Patrick Shiroishi, Gregory Uhlmann, Logan Hone, Luke Williams and Davy Sumner. The result is something new in it's entirety - a place where our relationships to past sacred music find new vessels swapping the spires of Gothic architecture for the mescaline haze of the sun setting over edge of the New World.
