Hemispheres is the first results of a two-year collaboration between Australian artist Adam Hipwell and Polish musician Jakub Kasperkiewicz. Reflecting their respective hemispheres, the album explores themes of creation, pulsating life, inevitable endings and decay through two short and two long tracks inspired by Gondwana and Laurasia, the ancient supercontinents. Both artists bring unique perspectives to this release, blending guitar textures with kosmiche sensibilities.
Jakub Kasperkiewicz, based in Wrocław, Poland, creates improvisation-driven compositions with electric guitar, weaving minimalist and organic ambient passages that sometimes venture into space rock. His work balances natural guitar sounds with the ethereal.
Adam Hipwell, from Melbourne, Australia, is known for his expansive musical explorations. His music captures his introspective style, combining kosmiche influences with arrangements that balance beauty and unease. He has been a member of the post-post-punk group Wunderlust, and the primitive instrumental collective Council of Elders before making music as a solo artist under the name ‘Hipwell.’
Hemispheres invites listeners into a transcendent dialogue between two creative worlds – illustrating to those that enter, that we are all one.
