pltfrm3001 – plumber pantti – mansikka / dobber
it's a great pleasure to open platform3000 with this ep, written by my old friend plumber pantti in far 2020. 2 atmospheric loop based songs following his release bain nuit suprisingly were found unreleased in our chat.
at one-day trip to finland plumber pantti trifted a record by maurice ravel - klavierkonzert g dur (piano concerto in g major) and played it at house party. when the record ran out, he played it in reverse and came up with the idea to sample one fragment.
mansikka and dobber – both tracks are made from the same 4-second sample with added reverse, pitch, and step effects in different ways. mansikka — light and airy, with a rhythm that seems slightly delayed, wrapped in room reverb and a barely audible click somewhere in the background. dobber, instead, feels emotional and anxious, built on pitched classical piano looped in reverse, with fragments of the main sample filling the background space.
