And Then Came The Evening is the debut album from Evigt, the ambient project of Finnish-Swiss artist Henrik Blomfelt. Initially released in April 2025 as a limited edition CD through Dutch label Shimmering Moods, the album is now reissued digitally on Blomfelt's own Quiet Valley Recordings as the label's second release.
The title, inspired by Dorian Supin's documentary Arvo Pärt – And Then Came the Evening and the Morning, sets the tone for an exploration of contrast and reflection. Across nine tracks, Evigt navigates a duality of place and mood, drawing much of its material from field recordings and an old upright piano in the rural southern coast of Finland, while other compositions emerge from the bustling environment of a flat in London.
