In October 2024, The Era released an EP with Teklife Records for the first time: Combo Pack. Well received within Chicago and globally, the group instantly thought about follow-up music. With a previous routine of creating music in DJ Spinn's basement called the Track Factory historically, the group began to think of new ways to make music together.

THE ERA planned a music retreat to focus on their craft and approached Chris Classick, owner of Classick Studios. Once he heard the idea, he encouraged them to stay in their new "Compound" space, which could also house them. Chris explained that creating an environment for other artists to engage with Footwork music in a space like this would place THE ERA in a different light regarding the Chicago music scene. In late 2024, THE ERA held a 7-day lock-in, inviting talented artists like Pivot Gang and Brittney Carter and several artists and musicians from around the city to explore Footwork music together. After a listening session before New Year's Eve, they gathered feedback on favorite songs to involve everyone in the creative process for their upcoming projects.

"Let The Record Reflect" is the latest EP from the collective, inviting listeners to engage with their decade of groundbreaking work. Each song showcases their journey and highlights the transformation of the image of dancers while paving the way for Footwork artistry through innovative performances and community-building. DJ Spinn’s musical talents shine on every track, including an unreleased piece from DJ Rashad that reflects their close friendship. The EP pays tribute to those they've lost and their roots in Chicago, emphasizing the storytelling at the heart of Footwork. THE ERA's artistry has propelled Footwork music and dance to new heights, making this EP an invitation to join them in their next chapter.
