This project is a compilation of EAI—Electroacoustic Improvisation. For those unfamiliar, EAI is a form of live performance where sounds are transformed in real-time using computers and turn tables. It often incorporates elements like guitar, voice, and ambient noises, which are then processed into something entirely new. It’s not exactly "music" in the traditional sense. Instead, you’ll hear drones, stuttering noises, and strange, otherworldly textures. But trust me—it’s a fascinating experience to immerse yourself in.
The album itself features recordings of live performances by various artists during 2007 and 2008, all of which took place in South Korea. The lineup is as diverse as it is talented, including Korean performers as well as artists from Japan, China, and Europe (with contributors from France, England, and Italy). It’s a remarkable gathering of unconventional performers who push the boundaries of sound and live experimentation.
I’m proud to be able to share this rare document of EAI history with you. Whether you’re a fan of experimental sound art or simply curious to hear something truly out of the ordinary, I invite you to give it a listen. Enjoy the ride through this wild sonic landscape.
Thank you for listening and supporting these underground sounds.
