milk eyed sigh, are a duo from Preston in which carl (powders) spins microscopic sampled fragments into buggy, staccato melodies that, when an almost-ambient bed of unlikely tones and textures is formed, are then freely and playfully responded to on the kit by cam (ex-violence grass band)
The debut EP ‘Dog Verses’ is an exercise in improvisation in which the duo build singular collage worlds using live turntable sampling techniques with effects, countered by sporadic kit percussion in a rapid-fire conversational manner.
“We wanted to make something from loops and a drum kit that reflected where our perspectives meet. Something steady but constantly disrupted, like life. Without any real regard for tonality and timing, just a raw expression in the moment”
Dog Verses was recorded live at Robinwood Mill in Todmorden in early Spring 2024. For this release, guitars and bass were overdubbed later at their home studio in Preston.
