Istanbul-based duo Japa announces their debut EP Love Is Never Enough, out March 2025 via Resonus Records — an experimental and intimate mixture of electronic and acoustic elements that challenges genre expectations.
Formed during pandemic isolation in a home studio in Tarlabaşı, we began playing as a jazz trio and shifted into a process of sonic searching — learning, unlearning, and shaping sound with what was at hand: modest instruments, SM57s, a few synths, a double bass, a bop kit, a guitar pedal setup and a mattress against the wall. Composed in a neighborhood shaped by displacement and resilience, Love Is Never Enough reflects the fractured, pulsing rhythm of Tarlabaşı itself.
