For James Oesi is a piece commissioned by Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Grachtenfestival and November Music.

This work is part of the pieces dedicated to flamenco voice research, being the double bass the responsible to execute this a capela song, directly related with saetas and tonás.

For James Oesi was premiered on August 15th, 2019 at Zuid-Afrika Huis (Amsterdam) during Grachtenfestival, and performed by James Oesi. The revised version was performed for the first time on February 24th, 2024 at Music (Arnhem) during the Andriessen Festival.
