​​as sound is reproduced, it becomes. it is an experience and we understand it through such terms. the building blocks of sound aren’t tangible, motionless, materials but rippling particles, vibrating instruments, sociocultural meanings, and physical bodies summed together in the motion that this experience is.

​​when i perform, my favorite instrument are the walls. they rattle with subby waves, my quiet thunderstorm, a massage of sound. the walls make it make sense. they give the piece the shape of the space around us; the real, immutable structure is suddenly the very same frequency as us. vibrations become the space, changing it constantly, changing us, too.

​​finding moving shapes within a digital rendering of straining, shuddering air is how i mix, it’s how i hear, and i invite you to hear it too.
