Tensions 1 & 2 is a musical collaboration between Meret Siebenhaar and Pascal Sontag. The two explore the tensions between acoustic and electronic sound generation, between manually played and sequenced patterns, and between human intuition and electronic randomness.
While Meret Siebenhaar plays her prepared grand piano, Pascal Sontag focuses on his Buchla synthesizer.
Acoustic and electronically generated sounds come together in ever-changing constellations within the space and in the listeners’ perception.
Two 20-minute sets of improvised music—experimental, meditative, and physical.
