Goddezz, a British sonic and visual platform started in 2020 by portara0000 and Kalli, has a new ambient sub-label called In Terra. The first transmission from this new container is Enochia, a compilation full of hyper-intricate, seraphic music. When Goddezz focuses on rave sounds, there is a decidedly spiritual undercurrent; that interest has not wavered here. You can practically smell the frankincense and myrrh emanating from these tracks, many of which combine forward-thinking, club-informed sound design moves with overarching sonic atmospheres that wouldn’t be out of place inside of a gothic cathedral. It’s a remarkably cohesive body of work, more about the experience of listening to it in totality than any single track. With that said, here is one highlight: “Weightless Future” by Merely, which conjures up visions of a Gatecrasher kid in a black robe, levitating alone in an ancient church.
