Kitty Craft is the solo project of the Los Angeles-based artist Pamela Valfer; in the middle of the 1990s and into the 2000s, she released a drip of records and tapes that hit like a beautiful merging of twee pop and Dust Brothers-style sample collage. It was very much in the spirit of the breakbeat-crazy times, and the music has aged wonderfully—proof of that postulation can be found in the reignited interest Kitty Craft has seen from a new crop of young people. In fact, the project has seen renewed activity over the past five years, and Bits + Bobs from the Flower Patch Vol. II comes as part of that wave. The EP, which features compilation tracks, bonus tracks, and beyond, is anything but a throwaway; that singular Kitty Craft sample flip fairy dust is sprinkled over everything. This is special music.
